Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 May 2026

By using Family Desk, you agree to these terms. We've tried to keep them short and readable.

What Family Desk is

Family Desk is a small web app that uses AI to extract events from photos of school letters, emails, and messages. It's currently in early access — meaning it's free, but things may break, change, or be incomplete.

Your account

  • You sign in with your email address. You're responsible for keeping access to that email account secure.
  • You must be 13 or older to use Family Desk. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
  • Don't use Family Desk to do illegal things, send spam, or attack the service.

Your content

The photos you upload and the events you save belong to you. We don't claim any ownership over them. We process them only to provide the service.

You're responsible for what you upload. Don't upload other people's confidential information without permission.

AI accuracy

Family Desk uses AI to extract events from photos. AI makes mistakes. We strongly recommend you review every extracted event before relying on it. We are not responsible for missed appointments, wrong dates, or other consequences of AI errors. Always check the events look right before tapping save.

Service availability

We try our best to keep Family Desk running, but we can't promise 100% uptime. The service is provided "as is" without warranties. We may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.

Pricing

Family Desk is currently free during early access. We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we'll give existing users plenty of notice and a fair option to either upgrade or export their data.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@familydesks.com. We can also close your account if you violate these terms.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid for the service in the past 12 months (which, during free early access, is zero). We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
